Our staff
tomek Tomek - local manager
There is no machine Tomek couldn't fix - and without Tomek, the farm would have come to a stand-still more than once. As a learned electrician, he knows how to repair everything. Tomek also takes care of the animals, and he is also in charge of the many construction projects to make Solberga an even more beautiful place.
johanna Johanna - garden manager
With her many interests in everything ecological, Johanna is the perfect person to be in charge of our organic farming. She holds a degree as garden manager from the academy in Båstad, and is a certified permaculture designer. Johanna is very interested in innovation, and there is reason to be curious about new and unexpected vegetables that might be growing on the farm...
erik Erik - garden manager
Having completed his education at Capellagården, Erik is a highly skilled gardener with a profound understanding of all plants that grow in Öland. He also loves trees, and has helped with  choosing and planting many of the new fruit trees on the farm. He will continue to be busy planting trees even in the future - we want many more trees!
christian Christian - farm shop manager
Christian is an educated garden manager and familiar with the many secrets of organic vegetable growing. He has earlier on managed a delicatessen shop and continuously improves our farm shop. Christian is also keen on enlarging the number of gourmet restaurants sourcing their foodstuffs from Solberga.
malin Malin - event manager
Solberga wishes to offer a range of activities during summer, which are organizes by Malin. This is a lot of work, as there are various small activities, such as the daily animal feeding or pony riding, and also several big events, including the Viking Week in july or the autumn festival at the end of september with several thousand visitors. We even intend to have a facebook site from 2012 onwards, which needs to be updated regularly. All of this will be done by Malin - we are happy to have our first event manager!
katharina Katharina - farm trainee
Katharina lives in southern Germany and has just finished the gymnasium. She will be helping with various jobs that need to be done on the farm - her experiences from work in the gastronomic sector and the Europark Rust will certainly be helpful for this! Katharina will also be in charge for the organic breakfast, which she will prepare four times per week for our guests. However, as she loves to ride horses, she will probably also be quite often out there with the ponies!
marian-arne Marian & Arne - chefs
We are lucky to have engaged Marian with his extensive experience in upper class cuisine. After his first year as chef of the restaurant, it is understood that guests only have one comment on his food: "jättegott" ("excellent")! Marian is also the father of the farm's luxury jam series, which includes varieties such as "plum & cardamom", "hokaido pumpkin & raspberries", or "peach-tomato" - all ingredients grown on the farm, of course. Marian will be backed up by Arne, our second chef - they both have the same genuine education. Together they plan to lift Solberga Restaurant to new culinary heights.
lucia Lucia - farm trainee
Lucia comes, as her friend Anna, from Austria and is currently still attending school, with a specialization in agriculture and food management. Raised on an organic farm specializing in cattle, she has a lot of experience with animals that can be very helpful for Solberga - we are looking forward to learn from her! Hopefully, she will also be able to collect experiences that can be of importance for her planned studies to become a veterinarian.
anna Anna - farm trainee
Like her friend Lucia, Anna is from Austria and still attends school, with a specialisation in agriculture and food management. She is looking forward to the practical work on the farm, which will be a nice contrast to the theoretical work in school. Anna is very interested in animals, and will be in charge of taking care of our animals, together with Lucia.
lily Lily - last years - and this year's? - wwoofer
WWOOF stands for World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms, and wwoofers are the people visiting and working on farms. Lily is a perfect addition for Solberga, as she has worked in a wide range of organic farms and shares her extensive experience with us. She also has an interest in accommodation and events, as well as animals. Lily already woofed with us in 2011, and was an enormous help. Her open and friendly personlity made her a huge gain for the farm, and we hope that she will come back in 2012, which is not yet entirely clear.
linnea Linnea & Meike - animal friends
Linnea loves all animals on the farm, but her favorite are horses (how could that be different)? You will always find her running around happily - life on a farm is never boring! Meike is mostly concerned with making things nicer - even though a primary school teacher by profession, she loves interior design and has vowed to turn the farm successively into a perfectly cosy place where you should feel at home straight away.
stefan Stefan - formally in charge
Stefan always wanted to be a farmer, and Solberga is the realization of this dream.
